1st St Minver Scout Group – The Scouts Story

1st St Minver Scout Group has been popular for young people within the Parishes of St Minver and beyond for many generations.

1st St Minver Scout Group offers a fun filled programme of activity and progressive training for young people, boys and girls, from the age of six through to 18.

We have different sections depending on the age of our young people.

  • Beaver Scouts (6-8 years);
  • Cub Scouts (8-10 years);
  • Scouts (10-14 years);
  • Explorer Scouts (14-18 years)

All are well supported at 1st St Minver.

There is a further section called Scout Network, which continues after the age of eighteen whether our young people are living locally or are away at University.

Stuart Robertson celebrates 30 years as the Scout Leader this year. He is passionately in support of the new Community Hub project and is very proud to be one of the five directors of the C.I.C.

For the last meeting of 1st St Minver scouts before the summer holidays we were at Roughtor. The scouts were accompanied by the leaders to the top whilst a couple of leaders stayed behind to cook up all the burgers and sausages that were brought along. By the time the scouts got back down from the top the burgers were ready so we all sat and ate far too many burgers and sausages. Then just as the midgies were starting to eat us to death we all headed off until our next meeting at the beginning of the autumn term.
