Our local football team currently has two sides competing in The Mortgage Advice Bureau East Cornwall League and Cornwall Airport Newquay Duchy League Division 1.
In recent years the club has had a sustained period of success gaining successive promotions from the 2012-13 season through to 2017-18, this includes winning the 2012-13 Duchy League Division 3 league title, The 2016-17 Cornwall FA Junior Cup, 2016-17 Duchy League Premier Division league title, The 2016-17 KMD Developments Duchy Knockout Cup and The Roy Radford Division 1 Cup 2018/19. The reserve team also won the 2016-17 Duchy League Division 3 title.
This success however, does come at a cost as with the rise up the footballing ladder we have had to improve our pitch playing surface, dugouts, training kit and equipment and reinvest in this as we prepare for next season to ensure we retain the required standard.
You can imagine our challenges at this current time with no football being played and therefore no income, whilst expenses are still required to maintain the running of our club and our ground. At the same time a club like ours relies heavily on sponsorship income from the players and local businesses (who have also been massively impacted at this time).
