What a wonderful time we all had at the first St Minver Community Hub Fete on Saturday 9th August 2025. The weather was kind, locals and visitors came out to support the event and it was wonderful to see so many people having a lovely afternoon with children playing, people chatting with friends and most importantly, everyone coming together as a community.
Wadebridge Foodbank, St Minver Lowlands Parish Council, the Brownies and the Scouts were all represented alongside traditional stalls such as a Tombola, Hoopla, Books and Jigsaws, Plants, Fabulous Cakes and a variety of Arts and Crafts. The famous “Splat the Rat” even made a popular appearance!
Huge thanks must go to our main sponsors: Sharps Brewery for liquid refreshments, JB Estates for enabling the First Aid cover from St John’s Ambulance and Ian Warren of Philip Warren Butchers for their delicious burger and sausages.
One of the main attractions was the fantastic Raffle prizes, again donated by our local business community (list below) including Valley Caravan Park and Nick Pickles of Piknix.
All money raised will be used to support The Hub and as you may have noticed, if you have visited the site, work is moving apace, and the building is really starting to take shape. It won’t be long before the building is open, and we are welcoming everyone in.
Finally, the success of the Fete couldn’t have been achieved without the time and effort of its Trustees and an army of volunteers, so we thank everyone who was involved, no matter how big or small, and we look forward to an even bigger community event next year.
