I’m a Brownie, Get Me Out of Here! – A Jungle Adventure

I’m a Brownie, Get Me Out of Here! – A Jungle Adventure

1st St Minver Brownies joined 1st Wadebridge Brownies for an exciting jungle-themed pack holiday at Treverbyn Community Hall in Stenalees during the October half-term. Organised by Molly, Assistant Guider with 1st Wadebridge, the weekend also formed part of her assessment for her Pack Holiday Licence.

The girls arrived on Saturday, 24 October, full of excitement, although some were a little nervous about their first night away from home. They were soon settled into their jungle teams: the Cheeky Chimps, Tiger Cubs and Butterfly Explorers.

Throughout the weekend, the Brownies took turns being camp cooks, waitresses and housekeepers, learning valuable life skills and working together. There was plenty of delicious food, including wraps, homemade pizzas and a tasty chocolate fondue with fruit and marshmallows.

Despite the blustery weather and rain from Storm Austin, Sunday was packed with adventure! The girls tackled bush-tucker trials, including filling tubes with water and the chilly challenge of defrosting a frozen T-shirt to put on a Brownie. A woodland walk, crafts and games provided even more opportunities for teamwork, laughter and collecting gold stars.

After a busy day, everyone enjoyed a cosy movie night with popcorn and treats before settling down to sleep.

On Monday, the girls packed their bags, enjoyed their final activities and shared lunch before heading home with their badges, jungle-themed goody bags and wonderful memories.

A huge thank you to Molly, Tracy and Michelle for making the weekend such a success. Congratulations to Molly on achieving her Pack Holiday Licence!

The Brownies returned home with new skills, stronger friendships and plenty of jungle adventure stories to tell!
