A lot has happened over the last three months since our summer fete, which was a resounding success! It had that wonderful community feel we hoped for — and we’re thrilled to share that we raised £2,500.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for being such an essential part of its success. The weather was certainly on our side, and we’ve already set the date for next year’s fete — Saturday, 1st August 2026. Please pop it in your diaries!
We’d love to hear from you about what you’d like to see at next year’s event — or if you’d like to run a stall, volunteer, or donate a prize for the raffle, tombola, plant stall, bric-a-brac, or cake stall.
Building Progress
The construction of our new Community Hub is progressing well! If you’ve visited recently, you’ll have seen the scaffolding finally come down — revealing the building’s impressive exterior in all its glory.
Inside, great progress has been made: the walls have been painted, electrics and plumbing installed, and all joinery work completed. Outside, the pathway surrounding the Hub will soon be finished, completing the external works.
Looking ahead, the next stage will include laying the flooring, fitting the sliding partition walls, and connecting essential services such as the National Grid, BT/Openreach, and South West Water. Once Building Control has signed off the building as complete and ready for use, we’ll be able to announce an official opening date — an exciting milestone for our community!
In a later phase, the existing Football Club building will be converted into a shared storage area for the Hub, Scout Group, and Football Club, as well as an office space for the Community Hub Manager. The public toilet facilities will also be refurbished at that time.
If you’re planning a party, meeting, or community event, we’d love to hear from you — please get in touch to discuss hiring the Hub.
